Meals On Wheels – day 1
I recently read an article in our local paper that touched me quite a bit. Our local Meals on Wheels program is feeling the effects of our down economy, who isn’t. Even the big money makers online are reporting smaller money.
I just talked to the board chairman of the program John Graham, he was very grateful to have someone else on the volunteer staff. I told him at my job, I see a lot of people in a years time. If I could get just a one dollar donation from each of them, it would help. Graham was ecstatic, that would be great he said. Any help we can get is much appreciated. So I started. I asked everyone I saw at work today, if they would be willing to donate just one dollar for our local meals on wheels program. Without hesitation I received at least one dollar from everybody. Some gave two and one gave five dollars.
Thank you everybody, so much! I have a goal of raising $1000 and today, the first day I have collected $12.05 off to a great start.

Others can no longer afford it or have lowered their donations. Those who used to donate $200 now give $100. Over a period that builds up,” Graham told The Independent… Read the complete article.
