Dillyeo.com

Here is a site you will want to check every day.  Dillyeo.com is your daily deal finder.  I have been checking this site out for a while now, and they are not joking.  They have some of the best deals I have ever seen on the net.  Today they have a Hamilton Beach Wave Station 12 speed Blender for $19.99. $20 bucks, what a deal.  Just check them every day for a while and you will see what I mean. www.Dillyeo.com

Free shipping to our troops!

Posted by ronkel

This just in, please show your support.

Please sign this petition and urge congress to pass legislation for free shipping to our troops serving overseas. Last year when I was in Iraq at Christmas delivering cards and goodies to our troops, I personally saw the difference it makes to our troops when they receive packages from home. What a morale booster! I also saw the generosity of Americans and pro-troop organizations who would be able to send more to the troops if they didn’t have to pay for shipping.

God bless our troops, and God bless America

Here’s wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year!  Enjoy your family and friends.  Eat, drink and be merry.  Be safe and mindful of others and drive safe.

The picture below is the present my wife just gave me for christmas.  I have a fondness for light houses, this one is a 5 x 7 from New Zealand in a sepia tone.  I love it!! Thank you so much!

Symbolics.com

What was the first dot com domain name ever registered?

It was March 15th 1985.  Only 9 other dot com domains were registered in the 12 months following the registration of Symbolics.com.   The ten oldest domains include four 3-letter domains ( a category that became highly sought after, even to this day).  The ten historic names are…

  1. Symbolics.com: March 15, 1985
  2. BBN.com: April 24, 1985
  3. Think.com: May 24, 1985
  4. MCC.com: July 11, 1985
  5. DEC.com: September 30, 1985
  6. Northrop.com: November 7, 1985
  7. Xerox.com: January 9, 1986
  8. SRI.com: January 17, 1986
  9. HP.com: March 3, 1986
  10. Bellcore.com: March 5, 1986

When you consider that any name could have been registered in those early days, it is a bit surprising what was NOT registered – but back then no one had an inkling how valuable domain names would become a little over a decade later.

You can review PC World’s entire 100 Oldest .Com Domains list here.

Check out number 64 – wow!  And to live with the fact that my dad told me not long after this that this internet thing and domain names are going to be the  thing of the future.  I did register a couple of good ones but nothing like I should have.

Vintage Travel Trailers

Posted by ronkel

My pops just sent me this link to these slide shows of  vintage travel trailers with nice music to set the mood.  I liked it so much I had to post them.  I hope you enjoy them too.

I am 43 years old and we did a lot of camping when I was very young.  I can remember camping in Michigan, Arizona and probably other states I have forgoten about.  Some of the pictures in the slide shows I can relate to.  I can imagine they bring back many memories for my pops and mother D.

Can you remember these times?  Did you ever see the movie The Long Long Trailer, with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz?   I still remember laughing so hard.  My wife and I traveled extensively for 9 1/2 years, we had some of the same situations as in the movie.  We found it hilarious.  Check it out.
